Buckwheat Brings Butterflies is a forum to discuss gardening with California native plants. I live in Southern California and I have always been passionate about gardening with plants that make their home in the California wild.
My home landscape hosts about 100 different species of California native plantings including coast live oak trees, California sycamores, California lilacs, manzanitas, salvias, mallows, and buckwheats of course!
When we bring native plants into our landscape we gain multiple benefits: We save water, eliminate the need for pesticides, attract butterflies, birds and beautiful pollinators, learn and enjoy nature at our own pace, and create beautiful form and function in the garden.
Let’s explore the world of California native plants together. If you have native plants in your yard, feel free to tell me your stories. Share your observations with me, your successes and failures. Let’s all learn together.
